Cleveland Housing Advice Centre (CHAC), based in Middlesbrough town centre, has been supporting people since 1991. CHAC provides various services to include:
- advice on statutory rights to people who are homeless, threatened with homelessness or living in poor conditions
- free representational advocacy service at Appeal Tribunals and County Court
- outreach advice sessions in local community hubs supported by home visits for vulnerable groups
- crisis support
- job training for prisoners, ex-offenders and young people at risk, leading to volunteer opportunities
